Why should you use this published document?
It provides guidance enabling BS EN 1090-2 to be applied in a safe and cost-effective manner, with particular reference to:
- Selection of options where they are defined in BS EN 1090-2
- Selection of service categories in terms of quantified performance requirements, for use in choosing execution requirements, where applicable
- Alternative information where permitted in BS EN 1090-2
It applies to the same scope of application as BS EN 1090-2 with the following exceptions:
- Stainless steels
- Sheeting
- Resistance welding
- Riveting
- Matters not related to structural integrity, e.g. visual appearance

What’s changed since the last update?
This first amendment to Part 2 of PD 6705 updates and replaces the 2010 version which has been withdrawn.
