Abstract
This British Standard, a part of the BS 4875 series, describes methods for determination of the strength and durability of storage furniture.
General requirements are given for the testing process. Specific requirements are given for inspection before and after testing, the apparatus to be used for the tests, interpretation of the results and compilation of the test report.
This British Standard does not apply to test methods for determining safety aspects of domestic storage furniture. This standard also does not apply to the structural performance of kitchen furniture, nor to office furniture, nor to educational furniture.

This British Standard is a new edition of, and supersedes, BS 4875-7:1985 which is withdrawn.
