BS 7407:1991 specifies requirements for vehicles, directly propelled by energy derived from a fuel (e.g. an internal combustion engine but not an electric motor), capable of carrying children of less than 14 years of age.
The standard is not applicable to vehicles intended for use in competitions, e.g. those carried out under the control of recognized national organizations. The standard includes requirements for ATV’s (all terrain vehicle) for children up to 14 years of age, except for certain statutory requirements which are covered by legislation.
