What is this PAS about?
Sponsored by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, this PAS was written as a result of Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ recommendations following a government review of greyhound racing legislation.
It provides a kennel standard for racing greyhounds that supports good welfare practice.
Who is this PAS for?
It will be used by trainers of racing greyhounds.
NOTE - This PAS is not intended for:
- Other breeds of dog
- Kennels that only accommodate retired greyhounds
- Commercial greyhound breeding establishments
- Greyhound track kennels
- Kennels that are only for greyhounds under 15 months old
- The transportation of greyhounds

It supplies a consensus-based specification for greyhound trainers' residential kennels based on good practice and the collective experience of animal welfare organizations, veterinarians, government and industry specialists.
