1   Scope

This standard specifies characteristics of a nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel supplied in the following forms, and as parts, for general aerospace use:
  1. a) forging stock, designation S99A;
  2. b) forgings: softened, designation S99C;
  3. c) forgings: hardened and tempered, designation S99F;
  4. d) black bars for machining: softened, designation S99B;
  5. e) black bars for machining: hardened and tempered, designation S99E;
  6. f) bright bars for machining: softened, designation S99D;
  7. g) bright bars for machining: hardened and tempered, designation S99G.
