Why should you use BS 8666:2020?
This revised British Standard specifies requirements for the scheduling, dimensioning, cutting and bending of steel for the reinforcement of concrete conforming to BS 4449, BS 4483 and BS 6744; and designed to BS EN 1992-1-1, BS EN 1992-2, BS EN 1992-3 and BS 8110.
Users will adopt this standard to ensure they’re up to date with best practice and latest techniques/shape dimensions for the design and manufacture of reinforcement steel.

What’s new about BS 8666:2020?
This is a revision of the 2005 version. Changes have been made throughout BS 8666:2020 to bring the standard into line with Eurocode 2 (EN 1992) requirements. Major changes include:
a) New shape codes added
b) New data added
c) 22 existing shape codes amended
d) Changes to dimensioning of obtuse angles and cranked bars
e) Table 1 update to include dowel bars and improve the requirements of stainless notations
