What is this PAS about?
It deals with how to institute a system that controls the processes involved in remanufacturing automotive parts. The aim is to raise the quality of remanufactured parts to the standard of original parts and thus in turn raise the reputation of remanufacturers.

Why should you use this PAS?
It specifies requirements for a process control system which will ensure that remanufactured automotive parts match the standard of original parts.
It sets out the content of the required warranty.
It also defines the terminology used to describe remanufactured parts and specifies a verifiable process which includes initial component inspections, re-machining, function testing and inspections designed to ensure that remanufactured parts are able to deliver the same performance as original parts.
PAS 3100:2014 can be applied independently or as part of a quality management system and has the potential to enhance the performance and reputation of the automotive parts remanufacturing industry.
