BS EN 2000:1992 prescribes the requirements and the procedure for approving the quality system implemented by the manufacturer, for making European aerospace products. It also provides instructions for verifying that this approved system is maintained. It is applicable whenever referenced.
This European Standard has been prepared by the European Association of Aerospace Manufacturers (AECMA).
It is essential that products defined by European Aerospace Series Standards (EN) conform to the requirements of these standards, and that the quality of the products be consistently maintained.
To this effect, a qualification system, AECMA-CERT, for manufacturer and product is implemented. It is based upon the approval of the manufacturer’s quality system, as defined in this standard and the qualification of the standard product if required by the EN standards.
