PAS 278:2015 is a code of practice for organizations providing information or advice to individuals about independent living and care services. It gives recommendations for good practice and helps providers ensure that the information and advice they provide is accessible, easily understood, accurate, relevant and of a consistent quality. 

The recommendations aim to raise standards in information and advice services to enable individuals to make informed choices about long term care and support needs and maximize opportunities for independent living.

Who is it for?

PAS 278:2015 is aimed at providers of information and advice services, in particular those dealing with financial matters, health, care products and services or housing. It is intended to benefit consumers, such as older people or those with long term care needs, seeking information and advice to plan their future.

Organizations that may find it particularly useful include: Association of Independent Financial Advisers, Institute of Financial Planning, Institute of Money Advisers, APFA, Chartered Insurance Institute, Citizens Advice, Local Authorities, Charities, Pensions Management Institute, Trading Standards Institute, RIBA, National Association of Pension Funds and Patient Information Forum.
