What is BS EN 13480-2:2002+A2:2010?
BS EN 13480-2 sets out the requirements for materials and metals that relate to industrial pipework systems. These requirements look at the selection, inspection, testing and marking of metallic materials for the production of industrial piping. The standard is currently limited to steels with sufficient ductility.
How does it work?
BS EN 13480-2 first explains the terms, definitions, symbols and units that apply to industrial piping. The standard then explains the requirements for materials that are used for both pressure and non-pressure parts. It also shares a grouping system for steels for pressure equipment and discusses the requirements to prevent brittle fractures at low temperatures.
Who should buy it?
- Manufacturers of industrial pipework systems
- Suppliers of materials for pipework systems
- Quality assessors
- Inspectors
