1   Scope

This Part of BS 2574 specifies performance requirements for hip, knee and ankle joints that are to be incorporated in the side members to be used in lower limb orthoses.
This Part of BS 2574 is not applicable to joints for use in the immediate treatment of trauma cases.

NOTE Guidance on the design of orthotic joints is given inBS 2574-1:1991.
