This Subsection of BS 5655 specifies requirements for the testing and examination of new electric lifts covered by BS 5655-1:1986, before the lift is put into service.
BS 5655-10.1.1:1995 does not specify such requirements for electric lifts after modernization, or for the periodic examination of electric lifts.
This Subsection includes a proforma for a certificate of test and examination which covers
construction, certain aspects of performance, and contract data. A requirement to provide test
certificates relating to certain components of the equipment is also specified in this Subsection.
