This part of BS EN 726 specifies payment methods for telecommunication applications, using IC cards. These payment methods are not necessarily linked to the applications which use them and they can be used by more than one application. It considers an open system, in which the payment methods will be used. A closed system is a special case of the open system. It describes the following methods of payment: pre-payment; auto-billing.
