BS EN ISO 8062-1:2007 Geometrical product specifications (GPS). Dimensional and geometrical tolerances for moulded parts. Vocabulary
BS EN ISO 8062 is a geometrical product specification (GPS) standard and is to be regarded as a complementary process specific tolerance GPS standard (see ISO/TR 14638). It influences link 1 and 2 of the chain of standards on mouldings.
More detailed information about the relation of BS EN ISO 8062-1 to other standards and the GPS matrix model is also included.
Part 1 of BS EN ISO 8062 establishes a vocabulary of terms and definitions used to describe the features, form and tolerance types when assigning dimensional and geometrical tolerances to moulded parts in geometrical product specifications (GPS).
“BS EN ISO 8062-1 and BS EN ISO 8062-3 form part of the family of Geometric Product Specification (GPS) standards whose objective is to provide a single set of concise definitions which can be understood and used by all disciplines in the manufacturing environment. Having a single set of definitions for Design, Production and Verification disciplines reduces the possibilities of misinterpretation and conflict so prevalent in the past.” Phil Childs (Chairman of BSI Technical Product Realization Committee)
