BS EN 10028-5:2009 Flat products made of steels for pressure purposes. Weldable fine grain steels, thermomechanically rolled
BS EN 10028 is the European standard consisting of the following parts, under the general title Flat products made of steels for pressure purposes:
Part 2: Non-alloy and alloy steels with specified elevated temperature properties
Part 3: Weldable fine grain steels, normalized
Part 4: Nickel alloy steels with specified low temperature properties
Part 5: Weldable fine grain steels, thermomechanically rolled
Part 6: Weldable fine grain steels, quenched and tempered
BS EN 10028-5 is the European standard that specifies the requirements for flat products for pressure equipments made of thermomechanically rolled steels.
The steels are not suitable for hot forming.
About the BS EN 10028 series
The BS EN 10028 series of revised standards specifies general technical delivery conditions for flat products, sheet and plate, for the construction of pressure equipment.
The series has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive 97/23/EC for pressure equipment (PED).
It is intended to be used by suppliers and users of steel intended for producing pressure vessels for use in e.g. high or low temperature applications.
The Parts of BS EN 10028 cover non-alloy and alloy steels with specified elevated temperature properties, weldable fine grain steels, nickel alloy steels with specified low temperature properties, and stainless steels. The BS EN 10028 series is referred to in both PD 5500 and the BS EN 13445 series of standards for pressure vessels.
The requirements of EN 10028-1:2007 + A1:2009 also apply.
