BS EN 15269-20:2009 Extended application of test results for fire resistance and/ or smoke control for door, shutter and openable window assemblies, including their elements of building hardware. Smoke control for hinged and pivoted steel, timber and metal framed glazed doorsets
BS EN 15269-20 covers fire testing for the following:
- Hinged and pivoted steel doorsets
- Hinged and pivoted timber doorsets (including timber framed glazed doorsets)
- Hinged and pivoted metal framed glazed doorsets of single or double-leaf construction.
BS EN 15269-20 also includes information on the application of test results obtained from test(s) conducted in accordance with BS EN 1634-3.
Subject to the completion of the appropriate test or tests, the extended application may cover Ambient Temperature Smoke Control (Sa) and Medium Temperature Smoke Control (Sm) classifications and all or some of the following variations:
- Glazed elements, louvres and/or vents
- Side, transom or overpanels
- Items of building hardware
- Decorative finishes
- Intumescent, smoke, draught or acoustic seals
- Alternative supporting construction(s).
BS EN 15269-20 should be used for producing an extended application report based on the evaluation of one or more fire resistance and/or smoke control tests. It can also be used to identify the best selection of test specimens required to cover a wide range of product variations.
