This European Standard, a part of the BS EN 1993 Eurocode series, contains design guidance for the selection of steel for fracture toughness and for through thickness properties of welded elements where there is a significant risk of lamellar tearing during fabrication.
Section 2 of this standard applies to steel grades S 235 to S 690. Section 3 applies to steel grades S 235 to S 460 only.
The rules and guidance given in this standard assume that construction will be executed in accordance with BS EN 1090.
BS EN 1993-1-10:2005 contains design guidance for the selection of steel for fracture toughness and for through thickness properties of welded elements where there is a significant risk of lamellar tearing during fabrication.
BS EN 1993-1-10:2005 partially supersedes DD ENV 1993-1-1.
