What is this standard about?

BS EN 1992-1-1 provides general rules for the design of structures in plain, reinforced and prestressed concrete with specific rules for buildings.

Who is this standard for?

  • Architects, designers
  • Structural engineers
  • The concrete industry

Why should you use this standard?

BS EN 1992-1-1 contains the most up to date and technically correct guidelines relating to designing with concrete. The Eurocode and corresponding National Annex covers shear punching resistance and ductility characteristics and also provides technical changes relating to limiting value of punching shear capacity and creep in plain concrete walls and columns.

What’s changed since the last update?

  • The National Annex to BS EN 1992-1-1 incorporates changes to National Determined Parameters and also includes a new value for the punching shear resistance of slabs and column bases with shear reinforcement
  • It also holds changes to Table NA.1, “Recommended values” relating to BS EN 1992-1-1 and  corrigenda from January 2008, November 2010, February 2014 and amendment A1:2014
