Environmental testing - Part 2.1: Tests - Tests A: Cold
Executive summary
Cold test procedure to determine suitability of non heat-dissipating and heat dissipating specimens.
Abstract
This European Standard provides a standard test procedure to determine the suitability of non heat-dissipating components, equipment or other articles for use and/or storage under conditions of low temperature and for which the subjection to a sudden change of temperature has no detrimental effect.
The procedure in this standard deals with cold tests applicable both to non heat dissipating and heat-dissipating specimens.
The cold tests are subdivided as follows:
Cold tests for non heat-dissipating specimens
- with sudden change of temperature, Aa;
- with gradual change of temperature, Ab.
Cold test for heat-dissipating specimens
- with gradual change of temperature, Ad.
The procedure in this standard is normally intended for specimens which achieve temperature stability during the performance of the test procedure.
History and related standards
This European Standard supersedes BS 2011-2.1A:1977 which is withdrawn.
