Why should you use this standard?
The adoption of e-invoicing is bringing significant economic benefits. According to The European Commission the move from paper to e-invoices is expected to generate savings of €240bn over a six-year period and will become the predominant method of invoicing in Europe by 2020.
The PD CEN/TR 16931 series of standards establishes a semantic data model for the core elements of an electronic invoice and will help organizations in the private and the public sector undertake public procurement invoicing.
This Part 6 describes the methodology used for testing at a semantic level and at the syntax level. It also outlines the semantic testing, the syntax testing and testing of the validation artefacts that represent BS EN 16931-1 plus the test results. The testing of the validation artefacts ensures that they can be used to automatically check conformance with BS EN 16931-1.
