BS 7000-3 gives guidance on the management of the design of service at all levels, for all design organizations and all types of service. The service that is the subject of a design brief may be the complete service in its own right or a component of a larger service, for example the airline service or the catering service component.
Each stage of design management at the project level - the overview, typical actions and output, and the review - are split in BS 7000-3 for clarity. The iterative nature of the process is taken into account, and extra figures are included to better illustrate the guidance provided.
Guidance is given only on the application of general management principles and techniques for the management of design. Details on the techniques themselves, eg management of people and time are not included.
