BS EN 12077-2:1998+A1:2008 Cranes safety. Requirements for health and safety. Limiting and indicating devices
BS EN 12077-2 specifies general requirements for the application and operating parameters of limiting and indicating devices installed on powered cranes. It also covers significant hazards and their associated requirements.
Specific requirements for particular types of crane are given in the appropriate Standard for the particular crane type.
BS EN 12077-2 does not cover erection, dismantling operations, or changing the configuration of a crane.
BS EN 12077-2 is applicable to cranes which are manufactured after the date of approval by CEN of this standard.

Information for use
Instructions shall be provided for the protection of limiters and indicators when arc welding is
carried out on the crane
Instructions shall be provided for the actions to be taken to protect the limiter/indicator when
overload testing the crane.
Warnings shall be provided to prevent excessive paint from being applied to critical areas.
