This is the Italian version of PAS 13:2017
What is this PAS about?
The most effective way of ensuring pedestrians and vehicles move safely around a workplace is to provide separate pedestrian and vehicle traffic routes and, where necessary, implement barriers, rails and signage to prevent pedestrians crossing at dangerous places and to direct them to safer crossing points. This PAS sets out how workplaces can be made safer in respect to moving vehicles.

Why should you use this PAS?
Whenever you mix vehicles and pedestrians in the workplace, it increases the chance of an accident, so steps need to be taken to minimize the associated risks.
To help, PAS 13 outlines the current good practice traffic management procedures for a workplace and provides a standard for the safety barriers within them. It provides:
Recommendations for the impact resilience, dimensions, and positions of safety barriers in the workplace
Guidelines on how to manage the risks associated with vehicles within the workplace
Criteria for testing the impact resilience of a barrier
NOTE: This PAS doesn’t cover:
- highways and public environments;
- an installation specification or installation guide for safety barriers;
- safety barriers when working at height regulations.
