What is this PAS about?
It’s critical that civilian armoured vehicles (CAVs) do the job required by the people who use them. To help ensure that they do, PAS 301:2017 details how to test the performance of CAVs payload, acceleration, maximum speed, through gear acceleration, handling, braking and run flat against a set of requirements.
Who is this PAS for?
It will be used by:
- CAV manufacturers
- Test houses who carry out testing on the protection level of CAVs
- Those involved in CAV procurement, supply and sales
- CAV users
Why should you use this PAS?
This PAS was sponsored by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI). It enables CAV manufacturers to test their vehicles or have their CAV assessed against industry standard requirements to make sure they are fit for purpose. It will also help procurement managers identify the right CAV for their needs.
