What is this PAS about?
PAS 2031 is used to ensure that the certification bodies which evaluate Energy Efficiency Measures installations against the requirements of PAS 2030 are doing so in a consistent and reliable way. In other words, it specifies what is required of certification bodies when they evaluate EEM installers.
Its ultimate aim is to give the public and businesses more confidence in the quality of energy efficiency retrofitting in the UK.
Who is this PAS for?
It will only be used in earnest by certification bodies which provide or intend to provide conformity evaluations of PAS 2030. An understanding of its requirements may also be useful to installers who intend to apply for evaluation.
Why should you use this PAS?
Because it provides assurance that a certification body is performing high quality evaluations. This in turn will help embed a good standard of EEM installations nationwide that will ultimately contribute to improvements in the energy efficiency of the UK’s housing stock, and help achieve government targets for reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
What has changed since the last update?
This revision follows much the same approach as the 2015 edition but now includes a significantly more robust inspection regime. Other differences are mainly matters of clarification rather than change.
