BS 6100-4:2008 defines civil engineering terms that relate to road, rail and air transport.
BS 6100-4 uses the vocabulary of general terms for the building and civil engineering industry as set out in BS 6100-0.
The BS 6100 series of standards has been completely restructured and compiled on different principles than previously. Consequently, this part of BS 6100 represents a full revision of the standard.
BS 6100-4:2008 supersedes BS 6100-2.4.1:1992, BS 6100-2.4.2:1988, BS 6100-2.4.3:1992 and BS 6100-2.8:1990, which are withdrawn.
