What is BS ISO 10667-1?

BS ISO 10667 is an international standard that can help you create meaningful, ethical assessments or to intelligently purchase assessment services.

It's a document which sets out best-practice as given by a committee of international HR experts.

For example, it explains:

  • How to identify when you need to use assessment
  • How you should access, use, and store assessment results and reports
  • The conditions under which assessment should take place
  • The rights and responsibilities of assessment participants

The standard also gives example assessments that can be used, for example, for recruitment, restructures, outplacement or moral and culture initiatives.

Why use the standard?

Following best-practice will help you achieve a better fit and ensure you meet legal and ethical obligations. Employees will have a better chance of success and are more likely to stay loyal.

What do HR experts say?

“ISO 10667 is the first international standard to address issues of good practice in the assessment of people in occupational settings. This is an important step forwards and represents the culmination of over three years’ work of experts in assessment from around the world. As a global provider of assessment services SHL welcomes the availability of a truly international standard that will help us in working with our customers to ensure they achieve optimal value from their use of our assessment services.”
