Alarm systems - Alarm transmission systems and equipment - Part 2-2: Requirements for equipment used in systems using dedicated alarm paths
Executive summary
Requirements for equipment used in alarm transmission systems using dedicated alarm transmission paths.
Abstract
This European Standard specifies the requirements for equipment used in alarm transmission systems utilizing dedicated alarm transmission paths.
This standard specifies the performance characteristics of equipment to ensure its suitability for use and compatibility with different types of alarm systems.
The alarm transmission system may utilize wired links (e.g. d.c. or a modulated signal over a twisted pair cable), voice grade signalling links or data links and may include multiplexers or message processors. The standard is also applicable to alarm transmission systems in which signalling links are shared with other services. Such services include normal subscriber telephone line from the supervised premises to the local exchange, cable TV or power distribution networks, but are equally applicable to other systems.
