Alarm systems – Alarm transmission systems and equipment - Part 2-1: General requirements for alarm transmission equipment
Executive summary
General requirements for alarm transmission equipment used in alarm transmission systems.
Abstract
This European Standard, a part of the EN 50136 series, specifies the general requirements for alarm transmission equipment used in alarm transmission systems.
This standard does not specify the equipment used to display the information at the alarm receiving centre or the installation of the equipment.
General considerations are given followed by requirements on functional, testing and environmental issues, electromagnetic compatibility testing and requirements, marking and product specification.
Additional requirements for specific types of alarm transmission equipment are given in separate parts of this series of standards. This does not preclude the use of any alarm transmission equipment not covered by one of these specific documents, provided that it meets the general requirements.
